Job Description
A private family in Palm Beach is seeking an experienced, versatile Houseman / Private Driver to support their residences, vehicles, and day-to-day household operations.
This is a true hybrid position combining professional private driving with hands-on estate support. When the principals are in residence, providing safe, discreet, and attentive transportation will be a priority. Outside of driving responsibilities, this individual will work closely with the Estate Manager and household team to maintain the properties, assist with projects, and ensure everything runs smoothly.
The ideal candidate is polished and professional behind the wheel, equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves around the estate, and genuinely enjoys the variety that comes with working in a private household.
The position is based in Palm Beach, with approximately 6–8 weeks of travel annually to the family's Lake Geneva, Wisconsin residence. Accommodations are provided while traveling.
Key Responsibilities
Private Driving & Vehicle Management
Provide safe, professional, and discreet transportation for the principals, family, and guests
Coordinate airport transfers, appointments, events, and personal transportation
Maintain family vehicles to exceptional standards, including cleanliness, fueling, detailing, and routine servicing
Anticipate routes, traffic, schedules, and transportation needs
Maintain vehicle records and coordinate maintenance, registrations, and repairs
Household & Estate Support
Conduct property walkthroughs and assist with maintaining guest-ready residences
Maintain garages, storage areas, warehouses, patios, and outdoor living spaces
Assist with light maintenance, furniture assembly, pressure washing, and seasonal property preparation
Handle deliveries, household errands, supply purchases, and inventory organization
Assist with moving furniture, luggage, and other household items
Support the Estate Manager and household team with vendors, projects, and daily operational needs
Assist with pet transportation and other household requests as needed
Administrative & Technology Support
Use email, smartphones, computers, and digital tools to communicate with the household team
Submit digital receipts, track expenses, and maintain basic records
Assist with inventory updates, service records, and household documentation
Learn and confidently use the household's existing systems and technology as needed
Ideal Candidate
Previous experience as a Houseman/Driver, Estate Assistant, or similar private household professional
Professional private driving experience with an excellent driving record
Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable performing physical household and property tasks
Comfortable using computers, email, smartphones, basic spreadsheets, and digital systems, with a willingness to learn new technology
Polished, discreet, dependable, and service-minded
Highly organized, with excellent communication and time-management skills
Comfortable working independently and collaborating with an established household team
Flexible with changing schedules, household needs, and seasonal travel
Comfortable around dogs
Physically capable of lifting and moving heavier household items
Seeking a long-term position within a professional private household
Requirements
Must currently reside in the Palm Beach area
Valid driver's license and impeccable driving record
Previous private household experience and strong professional references
Ability to travel to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, for approximately 6–8 weeks annually
Proficiency with everyday computer and smartphone applications
Flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
Ability to successfully complete comprehensive background and driving record checks
Legal authorization to work in the United States
Compensation & Benefits
Starting at $50/hour+ DOE
Overtime paid at time and a half (1.5x)
