Job Description

A growing organization is seeking a Senior NetSuite Administrator to own and optimize its NetSuite ERP platform and serve as a key business partner to Finance and Accounting . This individual will oversee system administration, configuration, governance, security, and continuous improvement to support evolving business needs.

This is an independent, hands-on role requiring strong NetSuite expertise, accounting knowledge, and project management skills. The ideal candidate can translate business requirements into scalable solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and manage projects from design through deployment with minimal supervision.

Notes:

  • This person will be the NetSuite SME. The package has already been implemented so implementation experience not required
  • Strong focus on Finance / Accounting modules
  • Experience with SuiteScript (for development) is a BIG plus BUT NOT REQUIRED

Key Responsibilities

Platform Ownership & Administration

  • Own NetSuite configuration, performance, stability, security, and governance.
  • Manage system releases, sandbox testing, production deployments, and documentation.
  • Configure custom fields, forms, records, workflows (SuiteFlow), saved searches, dashboards, and KPIs.
  • Manage user access, permissions, role-based security, and change controls.

Finance & Accounting

  • Partner with Finance and Accounting to translate business needs into system solutions.
  • Maintain accounting configurations, including chart of accounts, subsidiaries, departments, classes, and tax settings.
  • Troubleshoot transaction, posting, and reconciliation issues.
  • Support month-end close, financial reporting, and audit activities.

Process Improvement & Project Management

  • Prioritize requests and manage competing business needs.
  • Lead enhancements and projects from requirements gathering through testing and deployment.
  • Identify automation opportunities and improve procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, record-to-report, purchasing, inventory, and financial close processes.
  • Communicate project status, risks, timelines, and solutions to stakeholders.

Reporting, Integrations & Data

  • Develop reports, saved searches, dashboards, and KPIs.
  • Support integrations, troubleshoot failures, and coordinate enhancements with developers and vendors.
  • Maintain data integrity and support imports, exports, migrations, and new business onboarding.

Support & Vendor Management

  • Provide Tier II/III support, resolve issues independently, and deliver user training.
  • Coordinate with NetSuite support and third-party partners while minimizing external dependency.
  • Maintain documentation, security controls, audit trails, and compliance standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of hands-on NetSuite administration experience.
  • Experience owning a production NetSuite ERP environment.
  • Strong finance and accounting knowledge, including general ledger and financial close.
  • Expertise in SuiteFlow, SuiteBuilder, saved searches, reporting, CSV imports, and integrations.
  • Experience managing releases, sandbox testing, deployments, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and translate business requirements into effective solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Finance, Accounting, or Information Systems preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SuiteScript/JavaScript experience.
  • Familiarity with APIs, SuiteTalk, and RESTlets.
  • NetSuite Administrator or SuiteFoundation certification.
  • Accounting degree, CPA, or related credential.
  • Multi-subsidiary (OneWorld), implementation, procurement, acquisition, or ERP expansion experience.

Success Measures

Within the first 12 months, the successful candidate will establish independent platform ownership, strengthen Finance and Accounting partnerships, improve automation and reporting, maintain system security and data integrity, streamline processes, and reduce reliance on external support.
