Principal Finance Systems Administrator- NetSuite

A growing global technology organization is seeking a Principal Finance Systems Administrator to lead the administration, integration, and optimization of its enterprise financial systems. This hands-on technical leadership role will oversee core finance platforms, automated data flows, system governance, and process improvements across global finance operations. The ideal candidate combines deep ERP administration expertise with strong integration capabilities and a solid understanding of accounting and finance workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary administrator and technical owner of core financial platforms, including NetSuite and Coupa Spend Management.
• Manage system configuration, workflows, custom fields, user permissions, upgrades, and ongoing platform enhancements.
• Design, build, monitor, and maintain automated integrations between financial systems, expense management platforms, procurement applications, banking portals, and other enterprise tools.
• Oversee API, EDI, and SFTP-based integrations to ensure accurate, reliable, and timely financial data transfers.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues, integration failures, synchronization errors, and data discrepancies in partnership with internal IT teams and external vendors.
• Maintain compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, IT general controls, and applicable data privacy standards.
• Partner with Accounting, FP&A, Procurement, and Sales Operations to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Develop and optimize automation scripts and middleware integrations to reduce manual work and streamline financial processes, including month-end close.
• Support integration architecture and the onboarding of new systems into the broader enterprise technology environment.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, system runbooks, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, data quality, operational efficiency, and scalability across the finance technology environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in financial systems administration, implementation, integration, or technical support.
• Extensive hands-on experience administering and supporting NetSuite and Coupa in an enterprise environment.
• Proven experience designing, implementing, and maintaining API-, EDI-, and SFTP-based integrations.
• Experience integrating financial systems with procurement tools, expense management platforms, CRM applications, and corporate banking systems.
• Technical proficiency with middleware platforms and scripting or query languages such as SuiteScript, JavaScript, Python, or SQL.
• Strong understanding of core accounting and finance processes, including procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, revenue recognition, multicurrency consolidation, and month-end close.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex technical issues, troubleshoot data flows, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for accounting and finance stakeholders and explain business requirements to developers.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and lead technical initiatives across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with middleware and integration platforms such as MuleSoft.
• NetSuite certifications, such as NetSuite Certified Administrator or NetSuite ERP Consultant.
• Coupa platform certification.
• Experience supporting global finance operations and complex enterprise system environments.
